Benedita LumeSeeing smoke means that signs of trouble or hidden strife are moving through your life. These signs often arrive before the trouble itself is clear, much like the way a scent reaches a room before the source is found.
Unease settles in the air. I always watch the way the light shifts when a storm is coming. You have the strength to stand your ground while the air is thick, dear. The air is clearing even as the haze appears.
The dream of smoke without fire or smoke coming out of the ground suggests that the instability is rising from your very foundation. Because the haze comes from the earth, it feels as if the ground itself is losing its grip on you.
When you are smelling smoke, the dream is telling you that your senses are already picking up on a tension that has not yet become visible. This awareness is a gift because it lets you know that something is brewing before it reaches the surface.
Smoke in a house shows that these troubles are touching the very heart of your household or your private life. Because the haze is inside your living space, the strife is not a passing thing but something that affects your daily peace.
Black smoke adds a weight of deep uncertainty to the dream. Its dark color makes the signs of strife feel more heavy and difficult to see through.
We had shrunk ourselves down and were hiding to avoid a witch. Then we had shrunk the witch, or a talisman representing her was hung on the wall. It began to shake. It dropped and disappeared. We began to panic, to destroy the house and set it ablaze in an effort to reveal her. The house is on fire, my grandfather’s house. I try to leave but there is blue smoke in the hallway. Nobody can leave and I am trying to warn them. I begin to move slowly, my body becomes unresponsive. Blue smoke! Blue smoke! I yell at them and I awake.
Your return is a pleasure Ethan,
