Dream about getting a cat

Getting a cat in a dream brings a cunning companion into your house. This creature moves through your life like a secret, watching from the corners with an eye that sees more than it tells.

This dream shows a change in how you hold your trust, for the creature acts like a part of the world that hides its true face. I have walked through my own rooms and felt the weight of a truth that was not yet spoken. You carry a natural sharpness that allows you to see through the masks others wear, dear. It is a steadying thing to know your eyes are open.

Buying a cat or getting a new cat shifts the dream toward a deliberate choice to let a certain type of cleverness into your world. Because you are the one making the exchange, the presence of this cunning spirit is something you have actively sought out rather than something that merely happened to you.

Being gifted a cat changes the dream because a person who moves with a hidden agenda is being placed in your life by another. The arrival of this sharp-witted guest is a matter of chance or a hand you did not move yourself.

Getting cats, in the plural, makes the dream more crowded and less certain. When many of these watchful companions appear at once, the sense of what is true and what is merely clever becomes as scattered as a basket of spilled grain.
