Benedita LumeA hotel is the way you move through a time when nothing is yet settled. This dream shows that your affairs are in a state of passage, much like a traveler who has not yet reached a permanent home. You are living in the middle of a movement, and the lack of roots is the very nature of this place.
The feeling of this dream is one of suspension, where the usual rhythms of a settled life are paused. There is a sense that you are between two points, holding your belongings in a way that allows for sudden departure. I have known the feeling of sitting on a suitcase, waiting for the world to tell me where to go next. You are currently navigating a stretch of time where you are not meant to stay, and that is why the ground feels so thin. It is a time of being unattached, which carries the weight of not knowing where you will land.
Checking into a hotel and staying in a hotel both point to the beginning of a necessary shift, where you accept a temporary arrangement to facilitate your progress. This arrival is the way you make room for the journey ahead.
A resort brings a quality of social warmth and a break from your usual labors to the dream. You find yourself surrounded by friendly faces and a lightness that helps you forget your work.
A luxury hotel or a tidy hotel room makes this passing time feel comfortable and soft. The orderliness of these spaces makes the temporary nature of the dream feel like a well-earned rest.
Checking out of a hotel marks the moment when you finish a specific part of your journey. It is the act of settling what is owed so that you can walk away with a clear conscience.
When you see an old hotel, a dirty hotel, or an abandoned hotel, the dream points toward the heaviness of things left unfinished or neglected. These states show that the unsettled nature of your affairs has begun to gather dust or decay.
The sheer size of a large hotel pulls your attention away from what matters. This vastness makes it harder to find your own way through the movement.
Being trapped in a hotel changes the meaning by turning the transit into a restriction of your will. The walls that should be temporary become barriers that limit where you can go.
Benedita LumeInterpreter interprets your dreams
Well, dear, the old houses never treated a dream as a stranger at the door. A dream was given a chair at the table like a cousin from far away. Most of what it carries is a warm sign about the life already around you, and even a hard one is usually a reminder about something small at home. Rest easy. The house is still standing.
